2022.2 Prerelease Notes

We are excited to announce that the 2022.2 Release has been tentatively scheduled for the week ending August 19th!

This release will occur on or after August 17th.

These are the features and enhancements that may be included in the upcoming release. Please note that this list is subject to change.

The prerelease notes are essentially a summary, or abstract, of the release notes that will be published the day of deployment. If you read the prerelease notes and not the release notes, you will miss details regarding major features, as well as minor changes and defect fixes that cannot be published this far in advance of a release.

  • These items are currently undergoing testing for quality assurance. If our QA team deems an item unfit, it will not be released. This means that we might not release everything on this list.

  • To avoid surprising you, we will not release any major change that is not on this list.

  • We will still publish full notes on the day of the release. Here’s what you’ll find in those that you may not see here:

    • A complete list of the features and updates that were actually released

    • Detailed instructions on how to use new features

    • Bug fixes and defect fixes

    • Minor tweaks to the UI that improve the user experience without substantially changing it

Performance Improvements

FEATURE 286494 Improve filter facet performance.
  • Tables throughout the application will see performance improvements.

  • Type-ahead filtering will be supported within the Filter Table and Manage Column widgets.

  • Scroll-ahead loading will be supported within tables.

Workflow Template Controls

FEATURE 327049 Admins (and Super Admins) will be able to limit who can initiate a workflow based on user role, allowing sensitive workflows to be restricted to higher-level roles such as Admins.
  • In the New Workflow Template modal and the Edit Workflow Template modal, the Admin or Super Admin can declare which roles can or cannot initiate with that template.

  • More than one role can be selected and permitted to initiate.

  • By default, all roles with initiation privileges can initiate.

  • Roles that cannot initiate (Requestor, External Party, Contract Moderator [based on Role Management setting], and Workflow Moderator) are excluded.

  • At least one role must be able to initiate using the workflow template.

  • On the initiation page, a user must have at least one of the roles (at any location or contract type) to use the workflow template. If the user does not have a non-restricted role, the workflow template will not be listed.

    • For example, if a user has the Reviewer role and the Approver role, but the Reviewer role is restricted from the workflow template, the user can still initiate using the workflow template with their Approver role.

USER STORY 329844 Current/existing workflow templates will be set at the default settings, where all roles with initiating ability by default will be able to initiate.
  • The current roles that can initiate workflows are:

    • Admin

    • Phase Owner

    • Phase Mediator

    • Reviewer

    • Approver

    • Editor

    • Signatory

    • Contract Moderator (based on Role Management setting)

  • The workflow template can only be used upon initiation by the assigned roles and cannot be accessed by roles not permitted to use the template.

  • Contract Moderators can only initiate off of existing workflows. If a user was given permissions to initiate workflows via the Role Management setting, the user can be added to workflow templates as a role that can/cannot initiate using that template.

USER STORY 329847 When an Admin or Super Admin selects only certain roles for initiation on a given workflow template, only users with at least one of those roles will see the workflow template as a possible selection on the initiation page, in the Reassign Workflow modal, and in the Request Approval modal.
USER STORY 490329
  • For action type=request or action type=new, Contract Moderators will not be listed in the Can Initiate Roles dropdown.

  • For action type=amend, action type=extend, and action type=terminate, Contract Moderators will be listed in the Can Initiate Roles dropdown.

  • If the Admin changes the action type to new or request and the Contract Moderator role had been added to the workflow template, the Contract Moderator role will be removed from the workflow template.

USER STORY 491003 For action type=request, the Can Initiate radio buttons will be hidden, as Can Initiate settings are not applicable in request workflows.

DocuSign Decline to Sign Recognition

FEATURE 468846 When a Signatory declines to sign in DocuSign, a Decline to Sign banner will appear in the workflow, which will read: There has been a decline in DocuSign, and the envelope has been voided. The Phase Owner or Admin must retract or cancel the phase.
USER STORY 467780 The Decline to Sign banner will appear when any user views the workflow, and the banner will clear if the phase is retracted.

Email Management

A new panel with Email Template, Advanced Settings, and Attachments accordions will be added to the Email Management tab. The panel will appear when the user clicks a notification in the table, and the information and actions in the panel will be specific to the selected notification (i.e., the notification in the table that the user clicked).

  • In the Email Template accordion, Super Admins will be able to customize text in email templates and view a change history for each email template.

  • In the Advanced Settings accordion, Super Admins will be able to manage additional recipients for the workflow activation and contract expiration email notifications.

  • In the Attachments accordion, Super Admins will be able to manage attachments for each email template.

USER STORY 447864 Each email notification will have its own tenant-wide toggle.
USER STORY 469087 By default, all email notifications will be toggled ON.
  • When a Super Admin toggles OFF an email notification, the email is no longer sent to any users of the tenant.

  • When a Super Admin toggles ON an email notification, the email is sent to all users of the tenant.

FEATURE 443005 A panel will be added to the email management area, and, in the Email Template accordion in the panel, Super Admins will be able to add custom text anywhere in the existing email template.
USER STORY 449742 Super Admins will be able to edit email template text, and saving changes to an email template will create a new version of the email template that will override the previous version.
  • Super Admins will be able to click into the body of the email or the custom text area to add or customize the email template.

  • Super Admins will be able to add or remove text throughout the template, including existing tags.

  • Super Admins will not able to update the email subject line. The email subject line will stay at default.

  • Any updates saved to the email template will be sent out to any users receiving the email.

USER STORY 449743 Prior to saving customizations, Super Admins will be able to revert an email template back to the current version, removing in-progress customizations.
  • A red Revert button will be present with the Edit and Save buttons.

  • Once clicked, a warning message will appear, notifying the Super Admin that, by continuing, all changes to the template will be lost.

  • Once confirmed, the email template will revert to the current version of the existing email template.

  • None of the customizations added to the template will remain.

  • Reverting will not remove attachments from the template.

USER STORY 449765 When a Super Admin clicks the Revert button, a warning modal will appear.
  • The message will read Are you sure you want to revert to the default email template? All edits will be lost, and this action is irreversible.

  • If the Super Admin clicks OK, the email template will be reverted.

  • If the Super Admin clicks Cancel, the modal will close, and the email template will not be reverted.

USER STORY 478347 The text area of the email template is limited to 4000 characters.
  • If the character limited is exceeded, a warning message will appear.

  • Super Admins will not be able to save the email template if the text area exceeds 4000 characters.

FEATURE 442981 Super Admins and Admins will be able to view the change history (last modified by) for modifications to email text on email templates.
USER STORY 449651 The change history will provide a date and timestamp of the modification and the email address of the Super Admin that made the changes.
  • All modifications will be included in the change history.

  • The change history will apply to the current template that the user is viewing.

FEATURE 443003 Super Admins will be able to add recipients to activation and contract expiration notification emails.
USER STORY 447915 A panel will be added to the email management area, and, in the Advanced Settings accordion in the panel, Super Admins will be able to add recipients to the activation and contract expiration notification emails.
USER STORY 447932, 481130 In the Advanced Settings accordion, Super Admins will be able to add any user from any organization under the tenant as a recipient to the activation notification emails and/or the contract expiration notification emails.
  • Upon the Super Admin adding the user, the user’s name will appear in the Recipients box.

  • Once added as an additional recipient, the user will receive notifications for workflows activated.

  • Access to the contracts (i.e., links) within the email will be based on the user’s permissions.

  • Clicking the X next to the name of the additional recipient will remove the user from being an additional recipient of the email.
