Character Limits in Fields

Free text fields (including tooltips) have a limit of 4096 characters.

Numeric fields have a limit of 15 characters.

Integers are limited to a range of -2147483648 to 2147483647

Decimals are limited to a range of ±1.79769313486231570E+308

If the filename of a document or attachment is longer than 100* characters, then the filename will be truncated upon download.

• This will not affect how filenames are displayed in the UI.

• We recommend that you keep filenames under 100 characters.

• *If the filename includes special characters, then the number of available characters will be fewer than 100.

The contract description field has a limit of 280 characters.

Cells in Excel files have a limit of 32,767 characters.

• If a cell contains more than this number of characters, Excel will truncate the data to a smaller number to fit that limit.

• symplr Contract cannot export a report containing a field with more than 32,767 characters because the Excel file would be invalid. To successfully export such a report, export it as a CSV.
